As a group we had to pitch to our class and also our teacher our idea for our final project, and why we are able to start filming. During this pitch, we had a slide up about our target audience, and we said it would most likely be a male teenager. However, after reviewing this with our teacher, we constructed research and found out that a survey shows that a female audiece prefers to watch a horror, or thriller more then men. This came as a surprise to us, so we have now changed this in our pitch, to ensure we have the correct facts representing us.
Our film may be very similar to 'The Stepfather' and contains intertexuality towards it, and as we found out by the research we conducted, females are more likely to watch a film like this. This came as a surprise to us, but is also a learning curve for us, as we now know to ensure we conduct a full research into each topic we are covering.
