CONVENTIONS OF FILM OPENINGS.
After analysing various different types of film openings, we have realized that many of them have similar qualities. These qualities consist of the company’s logo and name. Also, a fading shot seems to be used frequently, along with non-diegetic sounds, and a indication to the names of the characters. All of these are extremely important to the opening of a film, as it draws the audience in and gives them an idea as to what the film may be like. The sounds used can indicate the mood of the film as a whole. For example, a deep, suspenseful sound could mean a scary film, or a film with a lot of cliffhangers and possibly even gory scenes. Everything at the start of a film can indicate something, it's up to the directors to insert them, and the audience to look out for them.
